Child Safety
SENDBridge exists to support the adults who care for a child with additional needs. Your child's information belongs to you, and keeping it private is built into how SENDBridge works.
How we protect children
- SENDBridge is an adult platform. You must be 18 or over to create an account, and it is not designed for children to use themselves.
- Anything you record in your Organiser about your child is private to your account. It is never shown to other members and never appears on a public page.
- Community areas and private messages are only visible to signed-in members.
- No personal information is displayed publicly — names and emails are never shown on our public pages.
- You can report content or block a member at any time, and reports are reviewed by a person.
Think before you share
It is natural to want to explain your situation fully when you ask for help. Please be careful with anything that could identify your child, in the community, in a private message, or in a post you write publicly. Avoid sharing:
- Full names of your child, or anyone else's.
- The name of your child's school, nursery or college.
- Your home address, or the area you live in together with other details.
- Photos of children, especially in school uniform or with identifying details.
- Medical details, diagnoses or reports that could identify your child.
- Your child's date of birth, or anything that could be used to work out who they are.
You can always describe what is happening without naming people or places. "My 7-year-old is struggling with mornings at school" tells the community everything it needs to help.
Reporting a concern
- Use the Report option on any post, comment or message that worries you. You can report a profile as well.
- Reports about a child's safety are treated as a priority, and are reviewed by an administrator as soon as possible.
- You can block a member so their content no longer appears for you, without them being told.
- If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services on 999. If you are worried about a child's welfare, you can call the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
